Developmental Psychologist
Developmental psychologists are your experts in helping you assess, cope and manage developmental challenges such as autism, dyslexia and ADHD. They are focused on human development across the entire lifespan and helps you understand how your thinking, feelings, and behaviour change throughout life. Some developmental psychologist focus on only a specific period such as early childhood, adolescence, or old age, while others focus on the entire lifespan. They help you perform tasks such as evaluating children who may have a developmental delay or challenge, investigating challenges associated with aging, and studying how language skills are acquired. They also assist in building programs to help you, your child, your parent, or any significant other.
Research is also the bedrock of developmental psychologist, with the aim to add to our understanding of developmental issues that can arise throughout life. They study physical, cognitive, social, intellectual, perceptual, personality, and emotional growth. They also examine the influences of nature – nurture on the process of human development, and processes of change in context and across time.
